Longcross North
We were appointed to create an elegant apartment-led residential development, within the Upper Longcross North Masterplan. To include a Village Green and complement Scott Brownrigg’s completed first phase of residential development and interface with a Commercial Masterplan to the West.
Our design for the buildings are a contemporary interpretation of ‘Classical Villa’ buildings. These being symmetrical in plan, elegant in form and generate efficient floorplates that maximise dual aspect apartments.
There are two elements of the masterplan with urban and park settings. To respond to this context the scheme features both ‘Urban Villas’ and ‘Parkside Villas’.
A double height ‘Piano Nobile’ with double height fenestration grounds all buildings, with entrances expressed as porticos.
Top floors to the buildings are a modern twist on the ‘Attic’ to crown the buildings and articulate the skyline.
Materials are uniform throughout; predominantly white wire cut brick to set the buildings off against the landscape.
