Hitchcock Studio Waltham Cross
We were asked to prepare a site feasibility masterplan comprising a digital film studio with stages, workshops, music, an academy, offices, hotel, student accommodation, an auditorium and parking for 1,500 cars on a site adjacent to the M25 in Broxbourne.
Working closely with the client, the masterplan evolved into a campus style layout including a major park to promote the health and wellbeing aspects of business and education lifestyle. The design includes workshop facilities, TV studios, 20 stages of various sizes, 275,000 sq ft office space and a 2,500 person auditorium connected to a music centre. A four-storey University building frames the entrance to the site.
An existing listed building was carefully integrated into the proposal, providing an elegant dining space for VIP entertainment. Adding to the range of facilities, a major hub building contains a crèche, restaurants, retail and a health and fitness suite.
