Aztec 1000
We were commissioned by CEG to extensively refurbish a two storey office building, Aztec 1000, at Aztec West in Bristol. Originally constructed in the 1980’s, the refurbishment repositions the building for modern day office requirements.
The comprehensive redevelopment has created a unique headquarters office building, with outstanding ESG credentials and amenity provision. Significantly improving the appearance of the building, an additional floor, and complete reworking of the external envelope gives a dramatic contemporary exterior. It provides modern office suites that meet current occupier requirements these include: IT upgrades and tenant facilities such as café, gym, break out area and additional amenity space.
By retaining and transforming the fabric of the existing building we have created a stunning new addition to the office architecture of Bristol. Employing passive design techniques and embracing the lakeside setting Aztec 1000 provides a beautiful new workplace for the next generation. The building is positioned amid a mature landscape and with an adjacent lake. The project therefore provides notable improvements to lake views whilst rooftop terraces enhance the setting of the building and the experience of its occupants.
The project has improved public realm and accessibility and provides a considerable increase in cycle parking.
