The Brief

The brief is to provide a comprehensive refurbishment of the Grade II listed
Adelaide House on London Bridge. Originally completed in 1924 on the site of the original London Bridge, Adelaide House was London’s first steel frame building, and at the time of construction was the tallest building in the City.

The concept has been to enhance and celebrate the existing structure of the
building, whilst weaving in contemporary services and facilities expected by City
of London tenants. Materials have been chosen with reference to the historic
elements, and used in a modern way. The roof top, originally a rose garden and
putting green for the building occupiers, has been converted into a terrace with
extensive views up and down the Thames.

Extensive roof terrace with far reaching views along the Thames and of the City
cluster. Cycle parking and changing facilities twice that recommended by the
British Council of Offices. BREEAM Excellent. Reception with associated Business Lounge at Ground floor. Accessibility upgraded to modern standards
