An investment of over £1.1 billion in military infrastructure to support the Army Basing Programme has been announced by the Ministry of Defence, in an amendment to its existing Project Allenby/Connaught (PAC) contract let to Aspire Defence Limited in 2006.

Under PAC, Scott Brownrigg who are the leading defence architects for this operation have supported both Aspire Defence, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the Army in preparing the masterplan and living building designs from inception to delivery across Aldershot and Salisbury Plain Garrisons.

New and modern ‘Single Living Accommodation’ (SLA) with more than 2,600 bed spaces for soldiers has been planned, along with new and improved technical, office, catering, retail and leisure facilities to make sure that soldiers work and live in the best possible environment.

Scott Brownrigg is responsible for the master planning of all the sites within Project Allenby/Connaught and brings military expertise gained through the firms experience of providing executive Architect services at the Army Procurement Headquarters at Abbey Wood, as well as the redevelopment at Northwood.

The construction programme is scheduled for completion by 2020.
